Dr Spencer’s interests include laboratory diagnosis, medical counter-measures, sampling, decontamination and re-mediation following a deliberate release.

Dr Spencer’s health service interests are hospital infection control and the re-processing of re-usable medical devices. He is currently Chairman of the Hospital Infection Society and President of the Institute of Decontamination Services.
