Selection Criteria


The European Training in Infectious Disease Emergencies (ETIDE), an 5 day training course, is open to Emergency Care Clinicians, Laboratorians, Nurses, Paramedics and other health care workers.
 
All trainees must meet the minimum entry criteria to gain a place on the course. The selection criteria are as follows:
 
  1. Must be a registered, practicing clinician, clinical scientist, nurse or paramedic experienced in their specialist fields of practice which are associated with emergency care.
  2. At least 3 years proven experience in health care related public health and/or hospital emergencies.
  3. At least 2 years proven teaching experience at undergraduate or post graduate level OR 2 years experience of delivering training as part of continuous professional development.
  4. Able to complete a 5 day training course, with 15 to 20 hours of pre-course reading.
  5. Must be of a recognised senior position within their discipline to ensure training is disseminated nationally.
  6. An excellent command of the English language as the course will be taught in English.
  7. 7. Provision of verifiable proof of qualifications, certification and competency declarations from their employers must be provided.
